(STELA) - We really try to do all aspects of graffiti; from piecing to bombing, to painting trains, catching tags, painting rollers, painting characters and elaborate productions ect. My personal objective is to grow my skill and paint as many cities as possible.
(STELA) - I’ve never been in a male crew so I don’t fully know. One difference I notice though is that everyone in our crew personally knows each other and we are all close friends. Other than that we function the same as any other crew would.
(STELA) - Old school funk letters, New York subway graffiti and Bay Area wild style from the 90s/early 2000s.
(STELA) - I think my favorite cap is the Lego cap. I never saw these when I was growing up but now I always have them on hand. I feel like it’s a really good middle ground between skinny and fat and depending on how you spray the can you can range between pretty skinny to decently thick strokes with just the one cap.
(STELA) - Probably Chicago and Philly because I have never been there before.
(STELA) - Money and I talked about making more art and attending more art shows. We want to use art to fund the crews travels because that’s one thing we all love to do. We also all really like to make art and it’s just another hobby/skill we enjoy pursuing. My personal goal is to improve my piecing letters, I don’t feel satisfied being good-I want to be insanely fucking good.
(STELA) - Hard to say because we have already had so many dope ones, our trip to Guadalajara was definitely a dream and i’de love to go again sometime. What I really want to do is go to NOLA with the girls. Just bombing and eating crawfish non fucking stop lol
(STELA) - Physical fight, if you’re a man I’m using a weapon.
(STELA) - Not that I recall, I’ve never had graffiti beef with a ex partner.
(STELA) - Fuck that shit.
(STELA) - I mean it didn’t kill it, but it definitely took some magic out of it. Graffiti and writers used to be insanely mysterious- graffiti was really personal because we only knew what we actually saw in person. So how we felt about writers was more truly based on their art and how we reacted to it, now your ideas of a person are influenced by what you know about them on the internet. It didn’t use to be that you knew what your favorite writer most recently painted or ate for lunch or what political opinions they had- you just had your honest reaction to their work you saw in real time.
(STELA) - Cooking. Actually almost all of us love to cook and we like to have dinner parties pot luck style with each other. Our cooking page is @madgirlskitchen
(STELA) - Music is mandatory af, I listen to a wide variety while painting and really depends on who I’m with and what we share in common interest. I’m constantly listening to 80s goth music but graffiti is hip hop so we stay slapping old school bay shit like Too $hort.
(STELA) - I would probably say Oakland because it’s so unique. It’s truly fucking lawless and you have a good chance of finding a runner spot which is really the dream when bombing different cities.
(STELA) - I have og's who have been painting actively for over 20 years, a lot of people fall off but some of us paint graffiti for life for real.
(STELA) - Kinda. I think a good rule is if you are less skilled than someone and have been painting for a lesser amount of time than them, don’t go over them. When you start out you’re super thirsty to get spots and want to take other peoples shit to get shine. But honestly, even if you think you can burn someone, just find a different free spot. There is always another better spot - you just need to find it, there’s really no need to go over people especially if you’re in your first 5 years of graffiti.
(STELA) - I guess creating work that goes against your morals or hurts someone to make money.
(STELA) - The main reason is I truly love the craft, I love letters and I love painting on walls. My crew keeps me in the game and I don’t think we will ever stop.
(STELA) - Piece by piece, which documents graffiti history in San Francisco/ Bay Area.
(STELA) - I would like to be wealthy, which most likely will not result from graffiti lol. Graffiti wise I would like to be at a place where no matter what, I know I’m going to paint a successful piece.
(STELA) - Shout out to the whole MGK crew for pushing me to stay active and keeping graffiti fun!! Shoutout to Bukue and Dare for inspiring me and always being down to give me advice on my letters.
