"Ima make them lose count when they add up the total..get in that bag"-Anti
Anti is a self-taught writer that started drawing way before he started doing graffiti. He was a kid in 2nd grade and remembers doodling and sketching characters out of his books. Back then had good penmanship with his cursive and found he could easily catch rhythm with it. Seeing graffiti all over the neighborhood walls, canyons, freeways and alleys caught his attention and so began his lifelong love for it. His pieces are larger than life and he is consistently painting, you can tell that he has a ton of energy and love for what he does. We asked him a few questions for this interview:
◼️"At a swap meet in Santa Fe Springs there was a flyer on the ground, and it happened to say Anti on it with a cool character. I'm not sure what the flyer was about but the letters caught my attention." -Anti (on how it started)◼️
◼️1. What's the feedback like from people coming across your work?
"On my freights I get good feedback since they stay on the move. I'm told about how huge I go and that the color schemes are dope."
◼️2. On your bad days how do you stay up?
"Painting, long bike rides, tattooing and even jogging in the sand."
◼️3. Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
"Go big".
◼️4. Are there any tools or supplies you wish you knew about or had when you first started?
"I remember always looking for fat caps because we would try to make our own fat tips that wouldn't spray as well. I started off with touch n tone spray paint. Montana was too expensive".
